Dominic Cummings, Dominic Goings!

Finally it seems like the day has come that it looks like a possibility that Dominic Cummings the prime minsters unconventionally publicly notorious advisors could be exiting his Downing Street roll as chief advisor to the prime minister. Johnson’s subservient nature as a loyalist to those who will support him untenably has been the downfalls of much of his leadership creating this cronyism government that has seen 50,000 fatalities lives lost to the coronavirus.

Cummings, has been the thorn in the governments side and been what got the Conservative party with the message ‘Get Brexit Done’ at the last general election a landslide majority not seen since Margaret Thatcher led the party. Safe to say Johnson felt in debt to those who aided him to the top job prime minister and such a large majority.

Cummings formerly headed up the ‘Vote Leave’ campaign, Johnson and Gove being the poster boys of Conservative’s for leading the campaign as depicted in Brexit a uncivil war where Cummings was played by the actor Benedict Cumberbatch. He also, when when Gove was Education minister under Cameron was one of Gove’s key advisors. Though loathed with those within the Conservative party who turn their noses at his ruthless approach to politics and not being a member of the Conservative party who can blame them.

Earlier this year, he torn the government special advisors code and conventions when forced to justify his actions which were morally and lawfully ambiguous. Trying to justify him violate lockdown rules made it seem a case was one rule for the elite and another for the rest of society. This became quite a concern as special advisors who normally float in the background now in the spotlight. Quite a few Conservative backbenchers called for Cummings to resign as his ignorance of his own rules handed people an excuse and a reason for people to flout and be complacent with the lockdown resignations.

Following, his infamous trip to hundred of miles to a castle shockingly to test his eyesight the his lies didn’t stack up as if it was the truth he would’ve his statement would’ve been invalid anyway. The fact that Johnson kept Cummings on as Cummings was intended to leave after the full curtains on Brexit were closed. Gives people reason to believe that Cummings had a certain power over johnson was able to pull Johnson’s strings.

Tonight, this has became more apparent Johnson may have shown an ounce of authority over Cummings. This will be likely to be seen to little too late. The issue of how Cummings possibly could resign over is how Johnson allowed one of his allies in the Brexit campaign going from government. Johnson wanted to offer Lee Cains from the Brexit campaign who worked as in Downing Street on communications the role of Cheif of Staff something which Cummings seemed to had been doing unofficially. Lee Cains resigned over the matter of new Press Secretary Stratton the new number ten communications who will address the press and the nation in daily press conferences much like a presidential relation with the media like what the Whitehouse has with the media through daily press conferences. Stratton however didn’t want to answer to Cains but to the prime minister himself. This came an issue had the prime mister had to choose between Stratton and Cains.

Arguably, some may say that this is a Westminster bubble story but if this is the thing that sees Cummings exiting Downing Street maybe this won’t be the Westminster story that the some may feel but many will have a word to say on. It’s still a questions how much authority Johnson has if who works for him in loyalist and in buddy cronyism like relations. What authority does Johnson has and did Cummings get what he wanted?
