Statement for Public Release: Sat 15 Oct 2022

Set to be relaunched as a’ Unmasking Autisticly Aar’ the podcast ‘Neurocast By Autisticly Aar, a podcasting show focusing on issues that face neurodivergent people listening to voices in the neurodivergent community unmasking their neurodivergent lived experiences and taking stack and note on how our neurotypes affect us, what we want to know about us and what would make a difference in helping us

This series will hope to expand on the work I began in 2020 the period of the pandemic talking to Sarah Boon, Sophie Lavendar and Lyric Holmans as with diary chats from myself. We began talking about the importance of why in adult life some of us may need and wish to be diagnosed to autism with Sarah and gender and coming out with Lyric and chat on travel, comedy, lockdown and neurodivergent conditions Sophie has.

In this series hope to chat about mental health and illness within the community and mechanisms to help our welllbeing with chatting about conditions like OCD, anxiety, depression with plans to talk with people on other mental health conditions. To people in comedy and the performing arts and television acting sector on projects on neurodivergent creativity and their projects to support neurodivergent people. To sensory differences, stimming and communication differences. With those who create content on social media about neurodivergent issues. And about peoples focused interests.

You will hopefully hear from some Neuro Icon’s in this season too.

To make it sustainable goals for doing Stim Pride Showcases or Neuro News desk may not feature in each episodes in this season. This season will be focusing on the interviews with guests, diaries of neurodivergent experiences and any questions and answers the listener may have for a simplified production that can maintain release of many episodes to come in this season.

For the first incarnation of the podcast the series was apart of ND Neuro News a project had the ambition that can bring news for and about the neurodivergent community bringing a means of sourcing and sharing communal news, now defunct as a name. This is part of personal Unmasking Autisticly Aar to be a creative project focused on sharing my own lived experiences and that of others on who come through the podcast.

In future seasons there could be room for a segment or series episodes titled the ‘Queer Quote’ there is currently no word on that. As the series of the podcast develops be working with the responses of the audience and contributors to steer the content of the podcast and where that goes next
